The contents page is laid out with the three columns on the first page and the right contents page is separated by an advertisement in the magazine. The first contents page has the page number besides the title (subheading) of the page however it doesn't show how many of each pages relating to that subheading is, E.g. instead of it say page 34-39, it is written as 34 along with the subheading and then page 39 along with another subheading. The positions of the columns are positioned on the top half of the page with an image of ‘Lil Chunkee‘, ‘Mack Maine’ and ‘Lil Wayne’ on the bottom half of the page. The website of the magazine is positioned on the bottom left vertically. The second contents page is laid out very differently and the numbers are lower than the contents page before the advertisement. The contents are positioned on the right of the page as if in a margin. There are three images positioned on the left of the page. The different topics in the magazine, not just music. It contains Arts and Culture and even politics.
On the first contents page the ratio is one image to eight subheadings, however its balanced out on the page as they are spread out. Also the image relates to the copy as it is about music, not all of it is but majority of it is. On the second contents page there are four images however they are not next to the right copy. They look like they are positioned anywhere. It links to the genre of the magazine as it id called 'The source' which means its where you can get all your information and up to date topics from.
The contents page is consistent with the front cover of the magazine as it uses images of rap artists such as 'Lil Wayne' who appears on the front cover of the magazine and the contents page. The house style of the magazine is rap. it has artists such as ‘Lil Wayne’, ‘Pitbull’ and ‘Mack Maine’.
The features of this magazine that help to sell it would be the main images of famous rap and hip-hop artists. Below the masthead it says 'The bible of hip-hop, culture and pop' which catches the audiences attention as a bible is sacred and precious therefore they are relating this magazine in the same way.
