Music Magazine
Main Image:
Main Image:
The main image is of a Hip hop singer Ciara. She is positioned in the centre of the page. She is also positioned in front of the masthead, showing that the magazine is well known. However, the way her arms are positioned over her name shows she is a personal person. Ciara is only wearing black high heels and she is bent down holding herself up over her legs. Her body language shows that she feels insecure but her facial expression shows seduction and attitude.
Masthead:
The masthead is called 'Vibe'. The word vibe means the sensation someone can get through good music. The masthead is a grey colour which then fades into the white background. This is interesting as it is different from most magazine mastheads.

Target Audience:
This magazine is aimed at 'young, urban followers of hip-hop culture'. The magazine is aimed at people who are interested in R&B and hip-hop music and artists.
Skyline:
The skyline is about how R&B is changing. That it is going soft. Just like slow jams. It gives a few examples of artists such as Ne-Yo who do this. The colour of the skyline changes from black to white controversy. This makes it more eye appealing to the target audience.
Colours:
The main colours that are used on this magazine cover are red, black and white. The connotations of red reflect rebellion. Also the black and white contrast with each other giving the magazine front cover a bold and professional style to it.
Straplines and other copy:
The straplines anchor the image as the straplines are balanced on either side. The kicker makes up for the small straplines on the top right of the magazine. The strapline on the right of the magazine is a list of the top hip-hop and R&B singers. Most of the straplines are in capital letters shows it's straight to the point, giving direct information to the target audience. The copy uses demand words such as 'stand up!' above the kicker.
Barcode:
The barcode is positioned on the bottom right hand corner page of the magazine.
