This is an image which the teacher gave us. I learnt how to use Photoshop more effectively. I made the back ground of the image blurry to make the image of keira knightly stand out. To do this I used a lasool tool on Photoshop to go around keira and paste onto a another layout, so I could make the background layer blurry by clicking onto motion blur and changing the amount of pixels.
As for the masthead, I had to come up with something simple and that goes with the genre of the magazine front cover. Looking at the image, Keira looks in control and confident. she looks pure and has natural beauty. For this reason I came up with 'PURITY'. I like the masthead name I came up with as it's not too long and the font is simple too. I got the colour of the text by using the pipette and extracting from the dress keira is wearing by clicking onto it. Most magazine front covers have all capital letters in their straplines and kickers so doing the same made it look more professional.
I didn't want too many straplines to cover the page. I wanted to keep the magazine cover simple and to the point. I made up three different straplines, first one having audience inclusion by using the word 'your'. The second one using alliteration 'super sexy summer'. Finally the last strapline 'Men! Men! Men!' is also alliteration and gets the women interested. The writing under the kicker 'all exclusive hot photoshoot!' is related to Kiera Knightley. The word 'hot' is in red to show passion and how sexy Kiera is.
