This is a magazine front cover which I worked on with, with a friend. We took a long time to think of a masthead but we finally agreed on 'Fresh'. This connotes the idea of the latest in the celebrity life. We used the colour red because it stands out from the white background and because of the fact it's a primary colour as our magazine is aimed young girl teenagers from 13-16.
The image we chose that most young teenager girls' would love is Zac Efron. Zac Efron is popular from High School Musical and for his good looks. In this picture he looks cute and happy. He is wearing a white top with his arm underneath lifting it up to show his body. We choose this image as most girls would be attracted to it and would want to buy it.
We wanted to be professional in the layout of the magazine therefore we positioned him in front of the masthead, covering the letter 's' showing that the magazine is popular and the audience know what magazine it is as soon as they see it.
As the for the kicker we thought it would be professional for it to anchor the image and reflect the genre of the magazine. We put 'Zac Efron, uncovers his love for Vanessa Hudgens'. The colours I used were red and black which are bold colours which stand out and grab the reader.

The straplines we came up with were 'All new hot gossip' with the word 'hot' in red emphasising interesting and updated gossip. Also, 'Top 10 tips on relationships' is eye-catching to young teenagers as this is when they want to know about relationships. This magazine cover we created is very simple and does have lack of persuasive language. If I did have time to change it I would add a few more straplines with more emotive and persuasive language e.g alliteration and puns.
